Slowfox Wines

Slowfox Wines is a small family vineyard and cellar door in the Mudgee wine country, a relaxed, rural stop with a garden, firepits and a resident pup. Dogs are welcome inside and out, which makes it a comfortable spot in any season.

The dog setup. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome, generally including inside the tasting room, with a popular shaded outdoor garden of mismatched furniture that suits dogs well. There is a resident dog who often greets visitors, so bring one that is happy meeting others. Water bowls are available, but pack your own to be sure.

Known for. Hand-crafted small-batch wines across Chardonnay, Rose, Shiraz, Cabernet, Tempranillo and a well-regarded Malbec, in a friendly, country-living setting. There is also a playground, so it works for families as well as dogs.

Getting there and parking. It is about ten to fifteen minutes from the Mudgee town centre, with a dedicated car park on site. Opening is usually weekend-focused, so confirm the days before you head out.

Nearby with the dogs. Other dog-friendly Mudgee cellar doors are a short drive away, and the town centre has pet-friendly cafes for afterwards.

Spring and summer are the pick, when the shaded garden furniture comes into its own; the firepits earn their keep on cooler afternoons. Good for social dogs relaxed around the resident pup.
