Shadow Creek Cellar Door

Shadow Creek is a quiet, intimate cellar door on the edge of McLaren Vale, with views toward Gulf St Vincent and a relaxed feel closer to a friend's long lunch than a formal tasting. The shaded picnic lawns under the gum trees make it an easy spot to settle in with the dog.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome, best suited to the outdoor shaded picnic areas and expansive lawns with their vine and gum-tree views. Keep your dog on-lead and check with staff on arrival for the best pet-friendly seating. Some spots have bowls, but bring your own water, especially in the warmer months.

Getting there and parking

The cellar door is on Whitings Road, McLaren Vale, roughly 45 to 60 minutes from the Adelaide CBD, with on-site parking available. It opens Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm, and closes Monday to Wednesday. Booking ahead is recommended to secure a dog-friendly outdoor spot, and it is worth confirming the food service days if the plan is a long lunch rather than a tasting.
