Tim Adams Wines

Tim Adams Wines sits at 156 Warenda Road just outside Clare township, with the Riesling Trail running right past the property, which makes it one of the easiest cellar door stops in the valley to pair with a dog walk. The family-owned winery is a Clare Valley fixture, known for its Riesling, including Polish Hill River fruit, and a distinctive Cabernet Malbec blend, poured in a relaxed outdoor setting with valley views.

Dogs at the cellar door

Well-behaved dogs on lead are welcome in the outdoor alfresco areas and on the deck overlooking the vineyards. The indoor tasting room is generally off limits, and the fireplace lounge inside is not a dog space. Check in with staff when you arrive, because functions or a busy balcony can shift where dogs can settle. Bring your own water bowl, as there is no confirmed dog water station.

The vibe

Casual rather than formal: cheese platters, tastings that run to back vintages, and a balcony that draws photographers in autumn. The cellar door opens 10am to 4:30pm seven days, and weekend afternoons are the busiest stretch. Cyclists and walkers off the Riesling Trail drop in all day, so a midweek morning is the quiet window.

Pepsi: the flat, shaded stretch of Riesling Trail right by the cellar door makes a good warm-up walk before you settle on the deck with a tasting flight.

Getting there and parking

Clare is roughly two hours north of Adelaide, and the cellar door sits a few minutes from the main township on Warenda Road. On-site parking is available, and anyone arriving on foot or by bike can come straight up from the trail. Doors open at 10am daily.
