Symphony Hill Wines

Symphony Hill Wines is a high-altitude, family-run cellar door at 2017 Eukey Road in Ballandean, one of the higher vineyards on the Granite Belt and a well-established dog-friendly stop. It is a reliable place to bring the dog for an outdoor tasting on the deck, seven days a week from 10am to 4pm.

Dogs at Symphony Hill

Dogs are welcome on-lead across the outdoor areas and during outdoor tastings, with sheltered, shaded seating so you are not stuck in the sun and water bowls provided on site. The cellar door building itself is generally kept dog-free, so plan to be out on the deck and the vineyard grounds. Staff are used to visitors with dogs, which makes it an easy first or last stop on a Eukey Road run.

Worth knowing

The estate is known for award-winning Shiraz, including reserve bottlings that have picked up show medals, alongside a fresh, unconventional approach to the rest of the range. Tastings run through sparkling, white, red and dessert wines off the cool-climate terroir, and the deck can get busy on weekends, so keep the lead short around other tables.

Max: water bowls are out, but keep your dog settled under the table when the deck fills up on a Saturday.

Getting there and parking

It is a scenic drive from Stanthorpe: head south on the New England Highway, turn left onto Eukey Road and follow it for about seven kilometres to the gates. On-site parking is available with room for cars and coaches.

Hidden Creek Winery is just up the same road, with View Wine, By Brad and Stacey and Golden Grove Estate Wines also dog friendly, so a two or three cellar-door loop is easy to string together.
