Yallah Bay Foreshore Walk

Starting at the Yallah Bay jetty and boat ramp, this foreshore walk traces the Lake Illawarra shoreline toward Kanahooka Point. Dogs are welcome on lead, and it stays quiet enough to suit nervous dogs.

Lead rules

Yallah sits within Wollongong City Council, and the standard foreshore and shared path rules apply here. That means dogs on lead the whole way.

The walk

A paved path heads along the water from the boat ramp, with wide views over the lake, farmland behind and plenty of birdlife. It carries on toward Kanahooka Point, so you can turn around whenever your dog has had enough.

Sunrise over the lake is the local favourite.

Getting started

Park at the jetty car park by the boat ramp, where you will also find bins. Taps are spaced along the wider shared path network, but bring a bottle and a bowl as well.

Max: Shade is patchy along the open foreshore. On a hot day, walk early and turn back sooner.
