Woolshed Kitchen by Fine Spun

Woolshed Kitchen by Fine Spun is a rustic cafe set inside an old woolshed at 601 Princes Highway, Yallah, between Dapto and Albion Park. For dog owners the single defining drawcard is the large covered verandah, where dogs are welcome to join you for a proper sit-down meal rather than a quick coffee on the run.

The dog setup

Dogs are permitted in the outdoor seating areas, specifically the big sheltered porch and verandah, and they are generally not allowed inside the main dining room. The verandah is well covered, so it works in most weather. Keep your dog on leash and mindful of other diners and passing staff. Water bowls may be available but are not guaranteed, so bring your own to be safe.

The vibe and the menu

The kitchen turns out casual cafe staples: bacon and egg burgers, steak sandwiches and scones, with vegetarian and vegan options alongside. Coffee quality rates highly with regulars. The historic woolshed character, exposed beams and open fireplaces, gives the interior its charm, though with a dog you will be enjoying the rustic atmosphere from the verandah side. Hours run 6:30am to 2pm weekdays and 7:30am to 2:30pm weekends.

There is a free onsite car park, and the venue sits directly off the Princes Highway southbound with straightforward access whether you are coming from Wollongong or Shellharbour. Aim for a weekend late-morning slot; the verandah fills and a quieter arrival means an easier settle with a leashed dog. The verandah at Passionate Palate over the water at Kanahooka is the closest comparable dog-friendly setup, the fenced run at Oak Flats Fenced Dog Park is a short drive south, and Three Flamingos Espresso covers coffee in Albion Park.
