Howe Park

Howe Park, often listed as Howes Park, runs along the Hawkesbury River foreshore in Windsor. It is a flat, paved riverside stroll with big water views, and dogs must stay on lead.

Lead rules

Hawkesbury City Council treats Howe Park as general parkland, not an off-lead area, so keep the lead on for the whole walk. The approved off-lead space nearby is Deerubbin Park.

The walk

The formed path follows the river past open lawns and historic parkland, with views across to the Windsor Bridge. Leafy trees shade parts of the route, and the surface is smooth enough for prams and wheelchairs.

Bins are dotted along the way, and there is an outdoor gym plus picnic and barbecue spots near the path. Free street parking sits right beside the park.

Max: The river looks tempting, but it can carry bacteria or blue-green algae. Bring fresh water and a bowl rather than letting your dog drink from it.
