Warners Bay Foreshore

The Warners Bay Foreshore is Lake Macquarie at its most walkable: a flat, sealed shared path along The Esplanade with the lake at your elbow. Dogs are welcome on lead, and it is one of the easiest walks around the lake.

The walk

The path is smooth asphalt and concrete, with timber boardwalk sections toward Red Bluff, and it carries on toward Speers Point. Go as far as you like and turn back.

Expect jetties, sculptures from the lake's sculpture walk and waterbirds close to the shore.

Lead rules

Lake Macquarie City Council requires dogs on lead on the foreshore path and reserves, and keeps them out of playground areas. Pick up after your dog, and head to a designated area such as Speers Point Park if you want off-lead time.

Make a day of it

The cafe strip is right behind the path. Try Hippo Espresso or Lena's Cafe and Bar.

Flat and sealed, so it suits older dogs and prams. Bikes share the path, so keep the lead short.
