Laurel Bank Park

Laurel Bank Park is one of Toowoomba's show gardens, on Hill Street in the city, and dogs are welcome on a lead. Think of it as a slow, flat garden stroll rather than a run.

Lead rules

Toowoomba Regional Council requires dogs to stay on a lead and under control everywhere in the park. There is no off-leash area here.

The walk

Paved, level paths loop through seasonal flower beds, clipped lawns and a scented garden. Look out for the hedge shaped like Thomas the Tank Engine.

Mature trees shade parts of the lawns. There are taps and bins in the park, but bring a bowl and your own water for the dog.

Getting started

Park on Hill Street or Herries Street, where the main entries are. Accessible parking is inside the Hill Street entrance.

Pair it with

Park House Café and Sage & Butler are both close by for a coffee after.

When to go

The easy paths suit older dogs and owners with limited mobility. Outside the Carnival of Flowers the garden is calm, so skip festival weeks if your dog dislikes crowds.
