Surrey Park

Surrey Park is a compact oval of grass among the apartments of South Yarra, and the whole thing is a designated off-lead area. For inner-city dogs without a yard, it is the neighbourhood meeting spot.

Lead rules

The City of Stonnington lists Surrey Park as one of its off-leash areas, so dogs can run free on the grass. Keep them under control and clean up, as the neighbours are close.

The park

A paved perimeter path circles the oval, lined with recycled timber seats and native rain gardens. Medium trees and shrubs give patchy shade and bring in the birds.

There are drinking fountains with dog bowls, dog waste bins and a bag dispenser.

Getting started

The park is at 67 to 73 Surrey Road. Street parking along Surrey Road and the side streets is limited.

Best for a social play session with the local regulars rather than a long walk. Parking is tight, so it suits dogs who live within walking distance.
