Strutt Court Reserve

Strutt Court Reserve is a small, partly fenced green in Trott Park, and unusually for a neighbourhood park, dogs can come off lead. It is more a place for a stretch and a sniff than a long walk.

Off-lead rules

City of Marion treats the reserve as an off-lead area, with conditions. Dogs must stay more than 5 metres from any playground, keep away from wetlands, and not interfere when organised sport is on.

On the ground

Hard-surface paths run beside open grass, with bench seats and a drinking tap. There is little shade, and bins are limited, so bring bags and plan to carry them home.

Parking is on the street.

Pair it with

A short walk away, Reserve Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park has separate areas for large and small dogs, a chilled water station and bins. It sits on the Trott Park Trail, which links four leafy local reserves.

For a bigger outing, Glenthorne National Park is nearby.

When to go

Pick a time when no organised sport is on. It suits dogs with reliable recall that want space without a crowd.
