Gladstone Family Fun and Fitness Trail

Locals call it the Happy Valley Fitness Trail; the council calls it the Gladstone Family Fun and Fitness Trail. Either way, it is a paved path off Glenlyon Road in South Gladstone that climbs through shady bushland past outdoor exercise stations, and dogs are welcome on a lead.

Gladstone Regional Council lists the trail as a dog on-leash area. That matches its default for parks and footpaths, which are on-leash unless signed otherwise.

The walk

Paths are paved concrete with some stairs, climbing the hill behind the park to elevated views. Keep it short with a half-lap, or push on to the tiered stair climbs.

It suits owners who like to train while the dog walks.

Water and shade

The bushland canopy is generous, which helps in Gladstone heat. There is no dedicated dog water point on the trail, so bring water and a bowl.
