Seven Parklands Loop Walk

Seven green spaces, one circuit. The Seven Parklands Loop Walk strings pocket parks and grander reserves across Hawthorn together through leafy heritage streets, and the whole way is flat and paved.

Lead rules

The City of Boroondara expects dogs on lead along the loop unless a park's own signs mark an off-leash zone. Keep them at least 10 metres from playgrounds along the way.

The walk

The circuit runs about 5.1 kilometres on footpaths and sealed park tracks, smooth enough for a pram. One stretch follows a linear park laid along an old railway branch line.

Mature street trees and established parkland give shade on and off, and bins turn up regularly in the parks. Drinking water and toilets sit at intervals along the way.

Getting started

Street parking is easy near several entry points, or take the train to Hawthorn or Glenferrie, or trams 109, 75 or 16.

Make a day of it

For a proper off-lead run afterwards, Fairview Park Dog Off Leash Area and Wallen Road Reserve Dog Off Leash Area are both local.

Being flat and paved, it suits older dogs and slow sniffers, and the café strips along the way make an easy coffee stop.
