Rotary Park

Rotary Park on Belmore Road is a busy family park in Riverwood, with paved walking and cycle tracks looping through open grass. Dogs are welcome on lead, and it makes an easy, flat everyday walk.

Lead rules

The City of Canterbury Bankstown has not made Rotary Park an off-leash area, so dogs must stay on lead at all times. The tracks are shared with cyclists, another reason to keep the lead short.

The walk

Smooth concrete and asphalt paths run past well-kept lawns and a large playground with sandpits and water play. Expect families around.

Shade comes from picnic shelters and some trees, while the open grass catches the sun. Water bubblers, bins, toilets and barbecues are on site.

There is free parking on site and more on the surrounding streets.

For off-lead play, head to Riverwood Park Fenced Dog Park. The Padstow Park Hotel is nearby if you want a drink afterwards.

When to go

Quieter times of day suit dogs that get excited by kids and bikes. The flat paved paths are kind to older dogs.
