Pet policy
On lead on the path and in Plantation Point Reserve (Shoalhaven City Council); next-door Nelsons Beach is off-lead 4pm to 8am Oct-Apr and 3pm to 10am May-Sep.
The Round the Bay walking track ends at Plantation Point in Vincentia, and this last stretch serves up white sand, clear water and wide views across Jervis Bay. Dogs walk it on a lead, with a timed off-lead beach right next door.
Leads and the off-lead beach
Shoalhaven City Council requires dogs on a lead on the path and throughout Plantation Point Reserve.
Next door, Nelsons Beach has a timed off-lead area. From 1 October to 30 April it runs from 4pm to 8am, and from 1 May to 30 September from 3pm to 10am. Outside those hours, dogs stay on a lead.
The walk
The path is paved and shared with prams and bikes, with mowed tracks leading up to lookouts over the bay. Established trees shade parts of the reserve.
Toilets, picnic tables and barbecues are in the reserve, with parking close by. Bring water and a bowl for the dog.
Make a day of it
The track heads north toward Huskisson, where Emma's Coffee Spot and 5 Little Pigs are good for a coffee stop.
In summer, time the walk for late afternoon so the dog can hit the sand once the off-lead hours start.
