Stuart Street Reserve

Tucked into the Perth side of the Northbridge fringe, Stuart Street Reserve is a pocket of grass and trees where inner-city dogs get their quick morning and evening stretch. The lead stays on the whole time.

Lead rules

The City of Vincent manages the reserve as an on-lead space at all times. There is a small playground on site, so give it room when children are playing.

What to expect

This is a short stroll rather than a long walk. Paved footpaths wrap around grassy patches, with city streetscape on every side.

Established trees shade parts of the grass, which helps on warm days, and a drinking fountain and bins are on site. It sits away from the heavy arterial roads, so it is calmer than the bigger parks nearby.

Birdlife, willie wagtails included, gives an attentive dog plenty to watch.

Getting there

Parking is the catch. Nearby street bays are mostly paid or timed, so it works best for people who can walk in from home.

Make a day of it

Braddock's Dispensary and BOOtoo are close by for a coffee afterwards.

Best for apartment dogs that need a short, low-key outing, and for puppies learning to walk nicely on a lead.
