Norman Creek Cycle and Walkway

Norman Creek's path runs through Greenslopes toward Stones Corner beside a restored urban waterway. It links straight into Hanlon Park, where fenced off-leash areas are waiting at the end of a leashed walk.

Lead rules

Brisbane City Council requires dogs to be on a lead on public paths and in parks unless inside a signed off-leash area. Save the free running for the fenced dog areas.

The walk

The path is wide, flat and paved, shared with plenty of cyclists and walkers. You pass rehabilitated creek banks, pocket parks and sports fields, with major roads never far off.

It gets busy, so it suits dogs that are relaxed around bikes.

Water and shade

Dog-friendly bubblers with low bowls sit along the revitalised stretch near Hanlon Park, and bins are spaced along the path. New plantings, mature trees and shelters give patchy shade.

Street parking near Stones Corner and Hanlon Park fills up at commute peaks.

Make a day of it

Add a run at Ekibin Park East Fenced Dog Park, or finish with a meal at The Smug Fig Kitchen & Social in Stones Corner.

When to go

Mid-morning or early afternoon, outside the commute rush, is when parking is easier and the path is calmer.
