Nimbin Rainbow Walk

The Nimbin Rainbow Walk is a 750-metre accessible path linking Nimbin village to the town's recreation precinct at Aquarius Park by way of Alternative Way. It is short, shaded and full of art, and dogs are welcome on a lead.

Lead rules

Lismore City Council welcomes dogs on the walk as long as they are kept on a lead. The council also asks owners to always pick up after their dogs.

The walk

Formed paths and boardwalks run through bushland and native plantings, crossing small creeks on artistic bridges. Indigenous and contemporary artworks, storytelling signs and bird profiles by artist Ross Wallace line the way.

Most of the track is paved and accessible, with plenty of shade.

Getting started

Park at the Nimbin Pool entrance, where upgraded public toilets sit near the precinct. Do not count on dog bowls or bins along the path, so bring water and bags.

Who it suits

At 750 metres it suits puppies, older dogs and anyone after a calm stroll. At the Aquarius Park end, the skatepark, playground and pool mean kids about, so keep the lead short there.
