Montrose Community Walk

Montrose's community walk circles the recreation reserve and town centre on Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, with the Dandenong Ranges rising behind the ovals. It is a gentle on-lead loop on good paths.

Lead rules

Yarra Ranges Council does not list this reserve among its off-leash parks, so keep dogs on a lead on the paths. Dogs are not allowed on the sports ovals while games are on, or inside playground boundaries.

The walk

Paved and firm paths suit prams as well as dogs. Loops around the reserve run about one to one and a half kilometres, depending on which edges you take.

You pass the sports fields, the community playground and stands of eucalypts, with the ranges as a backdrop.

An easy choice for older dogs; plan around game times when the ovals are busy.
