Milky Pine Park

Milky Pine Park is a neighbourhood green on Bellbird Street in Bayview Heights, in the Cairns foothills, with a playground, benches and a wide sweep of well-kept grass. Dogs are welcome on lead, as it is not a designated off-leash area.

Lead rules

Cairns Regional Council treats this as an on-lead park. Dogs are not allowed within 2 metres of the playground equipment, so steer clear of the play area when it is busy.

Getting around

A concrete path runs through the park, and the rest is open lawn. Mature trees shade parts of the grass, while other patches sit in full sun.

Park on Bellbird Street or along the Anderson Road side. There are litter bins in the reserve, but bring water and a bowl for the dog.

Pair it with

For a longer outing, Ivan Evans Walk is a popular shaded bushland track in the same suburb. If your dog needs a run, Henleys Hill Park Fenced Dog Park is a fenced alternative.

Milky Pine suits a quick, calm walk for young or older dogs rather than a big outing. In the Cairns heat, keep to the shaded patches and go early or late in the day.
