Merrylands Park

Flat, paved and open 24 hours, Merrylands Park on the corner of Merrylands Road and Burnett Street is an easy suburban loop. It takes in the oval, the playing fields and the swim centre.

Lead rules

Keep your dog on lead. The playground and sports areas are busy, and Cumberland City Council's park does not have a signed off-lead area that we could confirm.

The walk

Concrete and asphalt paths circle the sports fields, courts and play spaces, and they suit walking or jogging. Mature trees shade the edges, while the fields themselves are open.

There are drinking taps, bins and toilets near the sports facilities, with parking on Burnett Street.

Pair it with

Holroyd Gardens is close by for a leafier walk, and Oliver Brown is handy for a coffee.

Games on the fields bring crowds, so quiet weekday mornings suit reactive dogs.
