Meadows Heritage Walk

A self-guided loop of about 2.5 km, the Meadows Heritage Walk takes you and a leashed dog through the history of this Adelaide Hills township. It passes Meadows Oval along the way.

Lead rules

Dogs are welcome on lead on the town's footpaths and reserves, and must stay under effective control. The walk sits in the Mount Barker District Council area.

The walk

You are on bitumen and concrete footpaths the whole way, with a few quiet street crossings. Highlights include the 1884 post office, the redgum headstones of the Pioneer Wesleyan Cemetery and a giant metal sculpture called Fossils.

Free parking sits by Meadows Oval and the Memorial Hall off Mawson Road. There is no dog water on the route, so carry a bowl.

Make a day of it

For bush tracks, Kuitpo Forest Reserve is a short drive away.

Shade is patchy, so go early or late in summer. The flat footpaths suit older dogs.
