Max Street Reserve

Max Street Reserve is a small neighbourhood green at 25 Max Street in Elermore Vale, handy for a short leg stretch rather than a long walk. Dogs are welcome on lead.

The City of Newcastle has not made this reserve a leash-free area, so leads stay on the whole time.

What's here

Expect concrete footpath, open grass and a tennis court, with mature trees around the edges. It is not heavily shaded, and bins along the paths are few.

There is no mapped dog water on site, so bring your own. Park on Max Street or the nearby residential streets.

With no sports crowds, it stays calm, which suits reactive dogs or ones that get overwhelmed in busy parks.

Make a day of it

For a proper run, the Elermore Vale Dog Off-Leash Area is unfenced but council listed, and allows dogs off lead between sunrise and sunset. Federal Park in Wallsend makes a longer walk.
