Len Fox Park Foreshore

Along Marine Parade in Labrador, the Len Fox Park foreshore is one of the few Broadwater spots where your dog can swim off lead. The City of Gold Coast signs part of the foreshore as an off-leash exercise area.

Leads and the off-lead area

Inside the signed zone, dogs can play and swim as long as they stay under effective control. Step outside it, onto the paths or the grass beyond the signs, and the lead goes back on.

Dogs are not allowed in the children's playground areas, so give those a wide berth.

The walk

The route follows a paved shared path used by walkers and cyclists, which keeps it easy going for older dogs. Views run across the Broadwater to sailing boats, with sandy edges and green parkland along the way.

Max: Cyclists share this path, so keep the lead short until you reach the signed off-leash sand.

Make a day of it

For a fenced run, Moreton Park Dog Park is close by. Papercup Coffee Labrador is a handy stop for a coffee afterwards.

When to go

Quieter hours at either end of the day suit this stretch, when the path has fewer bikes and a wet dog has time to dry off. Bring water for the dog, and a towel for the car.
