Lake Albert Walking Track

Lake Albert's sealed, well-lit circuit makes for an easy lap in Wagga Wagga, and dogs are welcome on lead on the main track. There are off-lead spaces by the water too.

Leads and the off-lead area

Wagga Wagga City Council allows dogs on the main foreshore track on lead. Designated off-lead spaces sit beside the lake, including sections near the Boat Club.

Look for the signs that mark where each off-lead area starts and finishes.

The walk

The path is sealed and lit, shared by walkers, runners and cyclists. Open water views run alongside, with pelicans and black swans on the lake, plus jetties, mature shade trees and clubhouses along the shore.

Max: Pelicans and swans come right up the bank. Keep the lead short as you pass them.

Back in town, Makers Coffee House and Little Lunch on Forsyth are both good stops.

When to go

The lighting makes early and late laps practical, and the sealed surface suits older dogs. Bring water for the dog on warm days.
