Kearneys Spring Historical Park

Kearneys Spring Historical Park is a small heritage stop in Toowoomba's south, built around a 19th-century brick-lined well from the area's 1880s water supply. Dogs are allowed, but on a lead at all times.

Lead rules

Toowoomba Regional Council requires dogs to be on a lead here. The park is not a designated off-leash exercise area.

The walk

Concrete paths wind past native eucalypts and grassy hillsides to the old well. It is a short, gentle stroll with a bit of local history, rather than a long workout.

Bring water for the dog, as there is nothing confirmed on site.

Off-lead nearby

Murray Clewett Wetlands in the same suburb has an unfenced off-leash area on the western side of the pond and its adjacent path.

For a fenced run, Carly Hibberd Park on Velodrome Drive has an off-leash area with a water tap, bowl and bins.
