Heritage Park(Blayney)

Heritage Park on Adelaide Street gives Blayney a fenced off-leash dog park, a big adventure playground and a link to the Belubula River Walk, all in one stop. It makes an easy break for road-trippers.

Leads and the off-lead area

Blayney Shire Council has set aside a fenced off-leash area towards the rear of the park, with water, bins and shaded seating. Everywhere else in Heritage Park, dogs stay on a lead and under control.

The adjoining wetlands restrict dogs to protect wildlife, so check the signs and keep to the open paths.

The walk

Paved, accessible paths and boardwalk sections lead from the park onto the river walk. Along the Belubula you see native birds and plants, plus a footbridge out to a small island.

Mature trees and gardens give shaded grassy spots near the play and walking areas, and there are drinking bubblers in the park grounds.

Pepsi: Do a lap of the river walk on lead first, then let off the steam in the fenced area where the water bowl is waiting.

When to go

Parking is easy on Adelaide Street. The playground draws families, so a weekday or an early start is calmer for dogs that find kids exciting.
