Henderson Park Path

Henderson Park fills the corner of Jersey Street and Salvado Road in Jolimont, and its old Moreton Bay figs make it one of the shadier on-lead walks in the area. Paths lead on toward the wetlands of Mabel Talbot Park, so a short lap can easily become a longer one.

Lead rules

The Town of Cambridge classes Henderson Park as an on-lead dog exercise area. Dogs stay leashed at all times and must keep away from the playground equipment.

The walk

Paved paths wind across open lawns under the big fig trees, and a timber boardwalk carries the route toward Mabel Talbot Park. It is flat, easy going the whole way.

Drinking fountains are set up for dogs as well as people. Bins, picnic tables and toilets are on site, with parking bays in the park and more along Jersey Street.

When to go

Lighting and seating make it practical for early morning and evening routines. The flat paths and deep fig shade suit older dogs, especially in summer.
