Bishop Street Cafe

Bishop Street Cafe is a family-run local at 35 Bishop Street, Jolimont, a few minutes from Subiaco, and it solves two problems at once: it pours a solid coffee for walkers with dogs on the alfresco side, and it runs a drive-thru window for the mornings when the dog is already in the car. It opens 7am weekdays and 7:30am on weekends, closing at 3pm both ways.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the shaded outdoor alfresco area; indoors is for people only. The covered tables make it workable through a Perth summer morning, and staff are easygoing with well-settled dogs. Bring your own water bowl to be safe, and keep your dog leashed and close because the space fills up at breakfast peak. There is no dedicated dog menu, so this is a coffee-and-company stop rather than a feed-the-dog stop.

The vibe

The cafe runs on Dimattina coffee with a dark, chocolatey profile, and the cabinet is the other headline: homemade cakes that regulars come back for, plus brunch classics like scrambled eggs and eggs hollandaise. Reviews consistently point at the cakes and the atmosphere, and the change of ownership has kept the loyal local crowd.

Getting there and parking

Jolimont sits between Subiaco and Wembley, and the cafe is an easy detour from either. Street parking runs along Bishop Street and the surrounding residential blocks, and the drive-thru means you can skip parking altogether if you are passing through with the dog.

Henderson Park sits on the Jolimont and Shenton Park border a few minutes away, with big shady trees and open grass where locals let their dogs socialise off-leash. Subiaco Common is another short hop for a longer stroll around the lawns and water features.
