The Gravelly Beach Foreshore Walk follows the Tamar River through this small West Tamar town, with birdlife and bush on one side and open water on the other. Dogs are welcome, on lead.

West Tamar Council requires dogs on a lead and under effective control on the foreshore and in parks such as Anzac Park. For off-lead time, the town has a fully fenced dog park with a double-gated entrance.
The walk
Expect flat tracks of compacted gravel and earth, with some grass and a few quiet roadside sections. The river views are the constant.
Before you go
Free parking sits right beside the foreshore and park precinct. Bins and waste bag dispensers are provided, but water for dogs is scarce, so pack a bowl.
Shade is sparse around the dog park, though there is a covered seat for owners.
Max: The fenced park has a double gate for a reason. Close the first before you open the second.
Make a day of it
Singapore Baker’s Cafe is the local coffee stop, and Exeter Fenced Dog Park is another fenced option nearby.
Its flat, easy surface suits older dogs and short legs.
