Grange Forest Park

Grange Forest Park pairs a shady, community-restored eucalypt forest with an off-lead dog area and a direct link onto the Kedron Brook Bikeway. It is in Grange, next door to Wilston.

Leads and the off-lead area

Brisbane City Council has a dedicated off-lead dog area inside the park, reached off Leyton Street.

On the shared paths and in the rest of the park, dogs must be on lead.

The walk

Sealed paths follow the Kedron Brook Bikeway and its loops, while dirt and mulch tracks wind through the forest. Some of those tracks are used by mountain bikers, so keep your dog close.

The canopy is thick, with mature eucalypts and jacarandas giving good shade. There are dog water bubblers and bins on site, and street parking on Leyton Street.

Because it joins the bikeway, you can keep it short or follow the brook further toward Kalinga Park.

Max: Mountain bikes come through the forest tracks fast. Keep the lead on and listen out.

Head over to Wilston for a coffee at Alcove Cafe and Deli, or try Bear Boy Espresso in Windsor.

The shade makes this a good summer pick, and the mix of forest track and paved path suits dogs that like variety.
