Flinders Avenue Reserve Path

Flinders Avenue Reserve sits on the banks of Hovells Creek in Lara, and its path is the way into the wider creekside trail network. That link is the draw, turning a short neighbourhood stroll into a longer walk.

Lead rules

The City of Greater Geelong requires dogs to be kept on lead at all times on the reserve path and the linear trail it joins.

The walk

The path is a sealed shared path, running past open green space, the playground and the natural creek banks. Trees line parts of the route, but shade comes and goes along the more exposed stretches.

Dog water and bag dispensers are thin on the ground here, so locals carry their own water and bags. Street parking is along Flinders Avenue by the reserve entries.
