Eildon Township Paths

Eildon's sealed shared paths tie the town centre to the Eildon Pondage and the holiday parks along Back Eildon Road. They make an easy, flat stroll in a relaxed lake-country town, with the lead on the whole way.

Lead rules

Murrindindi Shire Council requires dogs to stay on a lead on its shared paths and reserves. Keep it clipped on for the whole walk, and plan for a steady sniff-and-walk rather than a run.

The walk

The paths are sealed and mostly flat, which is kind on paws and on older legs. Views follow the Goulburn River and the still water of the pondage, with open parkland beside you.

Mature native trees throw patches of shade, but a fair bit of the route sits in the open.

Water, bins and parking

Dog bowls are hard to find, so carry water and a portable bowl. Bins are near the main car parks, the picnic grounds and the track starts.

Parking is easy near the pondage and the main street reserves.
