Deepwater Park

Deepwater Park follows the Georges River in Milperra, off Henry Lawson Drive, and its level riverside paths make it one of the gentler on-lead walks in the area.

Lead rules

The City of Canterbury Bankstown welcomes dogs on lead on the shared paths and open areas. Read the signs on site as you go, since that is where the detail is posted.

The walk

Wide paved paths and cycleways run beside the river, with some bush and dirt track sections. Expect water views, shady trees and plenty of birdlife.

You share the cycleway with bikes, so keep the lead short there.

Toilets sit near the pump track, and there are sheltered picnic tables, barbecues and benches along the way. Free street parking and car parks are off Henry Lawson Drive and Webster Street.

Make a day of it

Finish with an off-lead run at Vale of Ah Reserve, which is fully fenced with areas for small and larger dogs, or grab a coffee at Four Little Foxes.

When to go

The level paths are easy on older joints, and the park feels quieter than busier urban spaces. Bring water for the dog.
