Crace Recreation Park paths

Smooth paved loops, a duck pond and plenty of open grass make Crace Recreation Park on Narden Street an easy neighbourhood walk in Gungahlin. Dogs are welcome on a leash.

Leads and the playground

The ACT Government's Transport Canberra and City Services sets the rules. Dogs stay leashed on footpaths, cycle paths and the surrounding open space.

Keep at least 10 metres clear of the playground and the barbecue areas when people are using them. That matters here, because the loop runs right past both.

The walk

The concrete path circles the pond, the playground, an exercise circuit and the barbecues, so it is flat and simple to follow. Mature trees shade the park edges and the play area, while some stretches of path are fully exposed.

Bubblers sit near the central playground precinct, and bins for dog waste line the main paths. There is on-street parking plus accessible bays beside the park.

Finish with a meal at The District Bar & Restaurant, or a coffee at LAA Cafe in Nicholls.

Weekday mornings are the quiet window, before families arrive for the playground. It suits older dogs and anyone after a short, paved circuit.
