Cowies Creek Trail

Cowies Creek Trail follows a green creek corridor through Norlane and Geelong's northern suburbs toward Corio Quay, on a paved path that is easy walking. Dogs are welcome on lead.

The walk

The trail is a concrete shared path and part of Geelong's wider trail network. Along with Norlane, it passes Bell Post Hill, Lovely Banks and North Shore as it follows the creek toward the bay.

Mature trees line the banks, the creek edges have been replanted with natives, and there is plenty of birdlife.

The mapped start point is on Anakie Road in Norlane.

Lead rules

The City of Greater Geelong manages the path. Dogs stay on lead along it unless local signs mark an off-lead area.

Bikes share the path, so keep the lead short on bends. Take water and bags, since facilities along the creek aren't confirmed.
