Cooinda Park

Cooinda Park in Golden Square pairs wide lawns and a big regional playspace with a sealed path onto the Bendigo Creek Trail. The City of Greater Bendigo manages it, and dogs stay on lead.

Lead rules

Dogs must be on lead within Cooinda Park. Take extra care near the playground equipment and on the busy shared paths.

The walk

The paved shared path links straight into the Bendigo Creek Trail, so a short park loop can become a longer creekside walk.

Along the way are open lawns, picnic areas and the landscaped hill with its giant slide. A water tap sits near the play areas, and there are toilets, shaded tables and free barbecues.

The on-site car park is free.

Max: Kids on the slide mean noise and sudden movement. Walk a wide arc around the playspace.

Make a day of it

Mickey Mouse Hill Bushland Reserve is a bushier walk nearby, and Madame Jude is close for a coffee.

When to go

The playspace draws families, so quieter times suit dogs that are unsure around children. The sealed path is kind to older legs.
