John Fredericks Park

John Fredericks Park, often listed as John Frederick Park, sits beside Tingalpa Creek on Old Cleveland Road in Capalaba, right next to Capalaba Regional Park. It is a shaded creekside stroll with dogs on lead.

Lead rules

Redland City Council requires dogs on a lead along the creek paths and through the park unless signs say otherwise. Designated off-leash spaces are elsewhere in the surrounding park network.

The walk

Concrete paths follow Tingalpa Creek and link through to Capalaba Regional Park, passing creek lines, sports fields and plenty of native birdlife.

Mature trees shade parts of the reserve, and a cantilevered viewing deck looks out over the water. Bins are near the picnic and barbecue areas.

There is no dog water along the path, so bring a bottle. Car parks sit close to the park and the trail heads.

Make a day of it

For off-lead play, Brosnan Drive Park Fenced Dog Park is nearby. The Koala Tavern is close for a meal afterwards.

When to go

Picnic tables and shelters make it easy to turn a short walk into a sit-down. Paved and easygoing, it suits older dogs and anyone after a calm lead walk with water views.
