Brosnan Drive Park Fenced Dog Park is a fairly large, fully fenced off-leash area on Brosnan Drive in Capalaba, set within the wider Brosnan Drive Park alongside a playground and walking paths.

The rules. The enclosed area is off-leash once inside, but bring a lead for the walk in and out. Keep visual contact and voice control of your dog at all times, and clean up after them straight away, since the park does not reliably stock poop bags. Remove any dog that turns aggressive or uncontrollable.

What's there. Secure perimeter fencing, mature shade trees, and some undercover seating for owners. There are no toilets on site, and the grass can get boggy after rain, so time your visit accordingly.

Getting there. The park sits on Brosnan Drive, with street parking along the road. It is in a residential pocket reachable by local Translink bus routes from Capalaba CBD followed by a short walk.

Nearby with the dogs. Capalaba Central Shopping Centre, about five minutes' drive away, has several cafes with outdoor seating that tend to welcome dogs. Capalaba Motor Inn is nearby too, though it is worth calling ahead to confirm their pet policy.

Weekday afternoons see more traffic, with Thursday and Friday evenings the busiest stretch. Sunday mornings are usually the quietest window if you want the park closer to yourselves, and it is best avoided for a day or so straight after a storm while the ground dries out.
