Lochiel Park

Lochiel Park in Campbelltown mixes restored wetlands, river red gums and a sealed 4 kilometre Active Family Loop that joins the River Torrens Linear Park. It is an on-lead walk throughout.

Lead rules

Campbelltown City Council requires dogs on a lead no longer than 2 metres on the shared paths and reserve areas. There is no off-lead area in the park, and dogs are kept out of the playgrounds.

The walk

Paths are sealed and smooth, so prams, bikes and older dogs all manage fine. Expect waterbirds on the wetlands and open grass between the plantings.

Street parking sits near the recreation areas, and bins line the paths.

Max: Shared paths mean bikes. Keep the lead short on the busy stretches.

Make a day of it

Hidden Leaf Cafe in Campbelltown and Melo Cafe in Windsor Gardens are both close for a coffee after the loop.

When to go

Morning brings the most birdlife and cooler paths. Bring water for the dog on the full loop.
