Central Lakes Park

Central Lakes Park in Caboolture wraps a paved path around a large freshwater lake, and it has a fenced off-lead dog park on the Summerfields Drive side. The City of Moreton Bay manages it, and on the walking paths dogs stay on a lead.

Leads and the off-lead area

Dogs must be on lead on the general paths and park areas. Inside the fully fenced dog park they can run free.

The walk

The concrete path is flat and even, built for walking, jogging and prams. You pass open lawns, exercise equipment and a playground as you loop the lake.

There are drinking fountains and bins around the circuit, plus sheltered seats. Parts of the lakeside path are open to the sun.

Getting started

There is an on-site car park. On Saturday mornings a 5 km community run uses the park, so expect company early.

Pepsi: Walk the lake on lead, then let off steam in the fenced park before heading home.

When to go

Weekday mornings or evenings avoid the Saturday run crowd and the midday sun on the open stretches. Flat paving suits older dogs.
