Worth knowing

Houses come with well-equipped kitchens, family-sized fridges, reverse-cycle air conditioning and private BBQs, and wheelchair-accessible options are available. One trap for dog owners: despite the address, Redgate Beach is inside Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, where dogs are prohibited. For a beach run you need Gnarabup instead, about 10 to 15 minutes away.

Getting there

Redgate Road runs off Bussell Highway at Witchcliffe, a historic timber town about 10 minutes south of Margaret River townsite. The retreat is a self-contained forest base rather than a walk-to-the-pub stay, with caves and wineries within a short drive.

Close by with the dogs

The designated off-lead beach zones at Gnarabup sit south of Narda Avenue and around the Back Beach stairs, and Brookfield Dog Park is a fenced off-lead option in town.
