The beach rules along this stretch of Hervey Bay matter more than usual. The main Torquay foreshore beach is on-leash or no-dog territory, so the morning run happens a little south of the park: the Scarness beach stretch between Tooan Tooan Creek and Scarness Jetty is off-leash around the clock, and Urangan's zone between the Margaret Street groyne and Dayman Park is the other 24-hour option, all per Fraser Coast Regional Council. Shorebird nesting restrictions apply on parts of the bay between September and March, so read the signage at each beach access.
