Cosy Corner Campground (East) Australien

Cosy Corner Campground (East) is a low-cost, nature-based camping area managed by the City of Albany, sitting directly on the coast between Albany and Denmark in the Torbay area. Around 24 camping bays take tents, caravans and RVs right behind the white sand, and dogs are welcome on leads, which makes it a rare beachfront base that takes the dog without a resort price.

Dogs at the campground

Dogs are permitted but must stay on leash at all times within the camping area. The rule protects the local wildlife and keeps the peace in a compact campground, and leash compliance is not optional here even for well-behaved dogs, so keep the lead handy from the moment you arrive. There are no pet fees on top of the camping fee. Do not carry the on-leash assumption into West Cape Howe National Park nearby; national park areas maintain their own strict dog restrictions, and dog-friendly access does not cross the park boundary.

The site itself

This is a rustic, first-come, first-served campground with no booking system, so arrive early in peak season. Facilities are intentionally basic: drop toilets and rubbish bins, with no potable water and no power, so bring all your own water and supplies. Natural vegetation gives some shade and decent protection from the coastal wind compared with more exposed beach camps nearby, and camp hosts are on site in busier periods.

Getting there and parking

The campground is off Cosy Corner Road in the Torbay/Kronkup area, roughly 20 to 25 minutes' drive west of Albany. The access road suits all vehicles but narrows in places, so take care when towing. Vehicle parking is adjacent to each bay.
