THE Grand Hotel Boulder PTY LTD

The Grand Hotel Boulder is a Goldfields landmark at 121 Burt Street, built in 1897 as Boulder's first brick hotel, and its dog-friendly claim is a real one: the beer garden out the back is open to dogs, which the pub has advertised itself. For travellers crossing the Nullarbor or working the Goldfields with a dog, it is the easy stop for a counter meal and a cold drink without leaving the dog outside the gate.

Getting there and parking

The hotel sits on Burt Street, Boulder's heritage main strip, about ten minutes' drive south of Kalgoorlie's centre. Free street parking runs along Burt Street, and the footpath tables put you right in the middle of the heritage streetscape.

Close by with the dogs

Burt Street itself is worth a leashed walk for its federation-era facades, and the Super Pit lookout is a short drive for the mining view. For coffee the next morning, Cafe Dharma is the Boulder dog-friendly cafe, and Paddys Eat & Drink in Kalgoorlie is the other main dog-friendly eating option in town.
