Coral Villa Motel

Coral Villa Motel is a self-contained motel at 56 Takalvan Street in Svensson Heights, on the main arterial route into Bundaberg. It built a long reputation as one of Bundaberg's most pet-welcoming motels, with a leafy central courtyard where travelling dogs stretched their legs, but that reputation is out of date: the motel's own FAQ now states plainly that it is unable to accommodate pets.

Under its current management the motel no longer takes pets, so travelling with a dog means booking elsewhere. Older reviews and directory listings still describe it as pet-friendly, which is why it keeps appearing in pet-friendly searches, but the official policy page is explicit and it should be treated as a no-dogs property. If you have stayed here with a dog in the past, that policy no longer holds.

Worth knowing

What has not changed is the motel's basic offer: budget, self-contained rooms with private bathrooms, kitchenettes and a large fridge, undercover parking for every room, free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool and a garden barbecue area. Check-in is from 2pm, all rooms are non-smoking, and there is no restaurant or room service, though food delivery and eateries are close. Sugarland Shopping Centre is a five-minute drive and the Bundaberg CBD about ten.

The motel fronts Takalvan Street with undercover parking at your door, and quiet residential streets nearby suit an evening walk if you are passing through without a dog in tow.
