Sunset Beach Holiday Park sits right on the sand at 4 Bosley Street, Sunset Beach, a northern beachside suburb of Geraldton in WA. Chalets, caravan sites and camping sites face the water, and the park is one of the few in the region with dedicated pet-friendly chalets as well as dog-friendly caravan and camping sites.

The park's pets page sets the rules plainly. Dogs are welcome on caravan and camping sites, and inside the designated Pet Friendly Chalets only. Every other cabin and chalet type is a strict no-pets zone, as are communal buildings including reception, the amenities and the camp kitchen.

In the park itself, dogs stay on a leash at all times, are never left unattended, and owners are responsible for picking up and disposing of waste. You must contact the park in advance to book a pet-friendly option rather than turning up and asking. The vibe

This is a beachfront park built around the water: ocean views from the sites, sunset outlooks, and beach access a few steps from your site or chalet. A camp kitchen and BBQs cover the cooking, and the general tone from guests is relaxed and welcoming towards dogs. Geraldton's famous winds are part of the deal, so peg the awning properly.

Getting there and parking

Sunset Beach is about ten minutes north of Geraldton's town centre via the North West Coastal Highway exit. Parking is on your own site, and the beach path starts at the park boundary, so morning walks need nothing more than a lead and the front gate.

Close by with the dogs

The beach out front is the daily walk, though check the City of Greater Geraldton's signage for on-lead and off-lead zones before letting the line out. The Foreshore Hangout Lounge in Geraldton works for a post-beach feed with outdoor tables. The Geraldton Caravan Park is the alternative option closer to town if Sunset Beach is full.
