The single reason to book here with a dog is direct, step-out-the-door access to the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, the Kep Track and surrounding bushland, paired with a straightforward pet policy that accepts one dog of any size with no additional fee.

One dog of any size is allowed, usually with no additional fee, but pets must be approved in advance at the time of booking. No cats are permitted. Dogs have full indoor access as self-contained guests. Bring your own dog bed, bowls and treats, as these are not supplied.

The place

It is a quiet, semi-rural cottage with two bedrooms: one queen and two king singles. The kitchen is set up for self-catering. The property borders natural bushland and offers off-street parking suitable for cars and, potentially, trailers. It also accommodates horses, which suits equestrian visitors travelling with their animals.

Trails from the front gate

The Railway Reserves Heritage Trail and the Kep Track are directly accessible for long, off-road walks, and Alps Reserve is immediately reachable for bushwalking. The cottage sits about 4 km north of the Great Eastern Highway and is a 5-minute drive into Mundaring for groceries and supplies. Best timed for the cooler months when the Perth Hills trails are at their best.
