Southcombe Lodge

Southcombe Lodge is a budget-friendly Port Fairy park with cabins and camping close to the town centre. It takes well-behaved dogs on sites, and the park's own guest guidelines are unusually clear about where they can and cannot go, so read them before booking.

Dogs at Southcombe Lodge

Per the park's guest information, pets are strictly not allowed inside The Lodge accommodation or any of the cabins; dogs stay on designated camping and caravan sites only. They must be on a leash at all times outside your vehicle or site, and are barred from communal areas including reception, the amenities block, laundry, playground and camp kitchen. Pets cannot be left unattended at any time, so if you leave the park the dog comes too. Management can cap the number of dogs per site and refuse certain breeds. Owners clean up immediately, sealing waste in a disposal bag before binning it.

It is a straightforward lodge-style park geared to value rather than frills, with a walk to the Sackville and Bank Street shops and the Moyne River within reach.

Getting there and parking

The park sits close to the centre of Port Fairy, so groceries, the river walk and the main street are all within easy reach, with parking at your site.

Close by with the dogs

Gum Tree Caravan Park is the pick if you want cabins with the dog, with a large fenced off-lead area, and Gardens Caravan Park is the other central site option. For lunch, Merrijig Kitchen is a heritage restaurant in town.
