Assemblage Boutique Art Bed & Breakfast

Assemblage Boutique Art Bed & Breakfast occupies the heritage-listed 1891 New Town Post Office building at 176 New Town Road, about four kilometres from the Hobart CBD. It is an arts-focused stay, filled with local artwork and books, with a guest kitchen, onsite art workshops, a small gifts shop and The Dispatch cafe in the building for morning coffee. A designated pet-friendly studio room makes it one of the few central Hobart-area B&Bs that takes a dog.

Out and about

New Town Road has the practical stuff on foot: New Town Plaza for supplies, plus Bam Cafe & Bakery around the corner for a coffee stop. Cornelian Bay is the closest proper dog exercise ground, a few minutes down the hill: the City of Hobart allows dogs off lead along the foreshore from the car park to Cornelian Bay Point and on the oval outside organised sport, under effective control, in daylight hours, with the adjoining cemetery strictly off limits. The Cornelian Bay Boathouse sits on the same waterfront if you are walking that way. Free guest parking on site makes the drive into the city easy.
